Wirral Farmers’ Market producers win special awards

PRODUCERS at Wirral Farmers’ Market have been presented with special awards to thank them for their contribution to the market.

The awards, given out by radio presenter Roger Phillips, also celebrated the standard of produce they bring to the monthly market.

The Barry Judd Best Product Award went to joint winners El Olivar olives and Red Rocks Beer from Betwixt Brewery

Helen Orton won the award for Most Unusual Product for her Chocolate Lamb Banana Curry while the runner up was Capra for its lime and ginger goat’s cheese.

Beef Direct landed three awards, including Best Presented Stall, Best for Customer Service and the Amy Brady Award for overall best producer.

Runners up for Best Presented Stall was DeerHurst Apiaries. High Seas Seafood won the award for customer service and the overall Best Producer was Betwixt Brewery.

The next market takes place at New Ferry Village Hall on Saturday, August 8 from 9am to 1pm.

Food on offer at the market includes cheeses, sausages, local honey, pies, cakes, fresh fish and free range eggs. along with a selection of seasonal vegetables.
