Girl Power! Emma Wombwell wins Wirral Chefs Shine

EMMA Wombwell from the Wheatsheaf in Raby was named winner of Wirral Chef Shine at last night's Wirral Tourism Awards.

The 24-year-old picked up the honour at the Wirral Tourism Awards for Excellence at Thornton Hall Hotel last night (Thursday), becoming the first female chef to triumph in the competition. 

Emma, from Neston, beat off the challenge of Colin Parry from La Paz, Dave Williams of the Portrait House, Robert Bryson from Sheldrakes, Thornton Hall Hotel's Jonathan Burgess and Andy Boyd from the Village Hotel.

It was a night of double celebrations for the team at the Cowshed, who also won the award for Most Proefssional Waiting on Team.
