Hilbre Court in West Kirby is a real bonza bar!

HILBRE Court has new Australian owners who are putting their own fun and friendly mark on the West Kirby bar.

The hub of activity in Banks Road serves real ale with a minimum of three ales on the tap at one time.

There is live music every Saturday night and the owners have lined up a great selection for this month with Phil Clark on October 4, Smokestack 6 on October 11, Havana Clue on October 18 and Emma Weston on October 25.

Hallowe’en fun is also planned for October 31 with a Hallowe’en party and competition for the best dressed ghoul taking place.

Every Monday night there is a Nintendo Wii to play with and every Sunday from 9pm there is the big quiz.

Texas Hold’em Poker night is on Tuesdays from 7.30pm and each Wednesday is hot’n’spicy food night.

Food is served Monday to Saturday from noon to 3pm and 6pm to 8pm, with main meals priced from under £5. Sunday roast is served each week from noon to 3pm.

Rod said: “We saw this opportunity and thought we’d take it. There is just a really warm, friendly atmosphere in here, which is just what we want.”
