BROKEN EMBRACES (15) New release
Mateo Blanco (Homar) is a scriptwriter who was in a terrible car accident 14 years ago that killed the woman he loved, Lena (Cruz), and blinded him. Since then he has gone under the name Harry Caine, choosing to forget his past and the accident, which he never talks about. One night he is required to look after his production manager Judit (Blanca Portillo)'s son Diego (Tamar Novas), after he hurts himself. During the time they spend together until Judit returns, Diego asks about when Harry was called Mateo and so Harry decides to tell the boy the story of his painful past, presenting it as fiction in an attempt to keep Diego entertained. Through his recollections we discover the intense and complex relationships that existed between Mateo, Lena, Judit and Ernesto Martel (Jose Luis Gomez).

Kevin Tancharoen directs this updated version of Alan Parker's phenomenally successful 1980 musical. The story centres on a group of highly talented students at the New York Academy of Performing Arts as they prepare for professional careers in dance, music and drama, while also undergoing a full programme of academic learning and dealing with the ups and downs of life and love. As each student strives for his or her moment in the spotlight, they will discover who among them has what it takes to succeed and finally achieve the fame they crave.

As Lopez endeavours to help the homeless man find his way back to life and work, a unique friendship forms between the two men, transforming both of their lives.

SURROGATES (12A) New release
Science fiction film set in a future where humans live in the safe solitude of their own homes whilst communicating through robots acting as surrogates. The robots not only carry out the lives of the humans, they also look like them with an enhanced physical appearance. Bruce Willis stars as FBI Agent Greer who assigns his own surrogate to help him inspect the murder of a college student with links to the creator of the surrogates. As the complexity of the case intensifies, however, the reclusive detective realises that in order to have a chance of catching the killer he must brave the outside world, leaving the safety of his own home. With the help of Agent Peters, Agent Greer attempts to track down the killer and uncover the intrigue surrounding the surrogate facade.

Julie is a French cook who became famous through her cookery shows shown on American television in the 1960s and 1970s, while Julia is a young American woman who in 2002 decided to attempt to cook all 524 recipes from Julie's cookbook, 'Mastering the Art of French Cooking', over the course of one year and chronicle it in an online blog. The intertwined stories of Julie and Julia show the parallels that exist in their very different lives.

DORIAN GRAY (15)
Ben Barnes takes the title role in this 2009 adaptation of Oscar Wilde's 1891 novel. When Dorian arrives in London he is introduced to a rakish, dissolute lifestyle by the larger-than-life character of Lord Henry Wotton (Colin Firth). When one of Wotton's artist friends paints Dorian's portrait, Dorian makes an offhand vow to always stay as young and handsome as he is in the picture, even at the cost of his soul. As his behaviour becomes ever more corrupt and hedonistic, Dorian's comely countenance remains unchanged; but the portrait begins to tell a different story...

When a sorority house prank goes wrong, leading to the shocking death of young student Megan (Audrine Partridge), her fellow college pals Cassidy (Briana Evigan), Jessica (Leah Pipes), Claire (Jamie Chung) and Ellie (Rumer Willis) hide her body and make a vow never to reveal their terrible secret. A year later, the friends are preparing for graduation and decide to host a celebratory bash on Sorority Row.
