Bebington Dramatic Society kicks off new season

BEBINGTON Dramatic Society will open its 2008/2009 season next month at the Gladstone Theatre.

The society is presenting “The Business of Murder”, a gripping thriller by Richard Harris, author of Stepping Out.

The play opens as Dee, a successful television writer, arrives at the flat of a man named Stone after accepting an invitation to discuss a script his wife has written.

She is surprised when Detective Inspector Hallett, with whom she is having an affair, also arrives - apparently to investigate a matter concerning Stone’s son and his involvement with a drugs ring.

But where are his wife and son?

After many twists and turns Stone’s intentions become clear as he slowly reveals the precise nature of the trio’s relationship and how they are connected, seemingly with the business of murder!

The play runs at the Gladstone, in Port Sunlight, from Wednesday, September 10 to Saturday, September 13.

All seating is reserved and tickets, which are £6, can be obtained from the theatre box office on 643 8757, from the theatre’s usual agents or on the door on the evening of the performance.

Bebington Dramatic Society’s season continues with Alan Ayckbourn’s new comedy “Improbable Fiction” in November, followed by a new comedy by Ron Aldridge - “It’s Never Too Late” in February.

The season finishes next June with Noel Coward’s classic comedy Hay Fever.
